Catching fresh live bait plus a few tasty #fish for dinner. We dive into the tackle and rigs that we use. The tackle we recommend you need, and run through really simply techniques to get the kids onto some fish. Plus, I explain how I use my Humminbird sounder and the Minnkota Ulterra to simply make the whole experience stress free.

Hi there thanks for the great information! I know it largely depends on tides, wind, size of boat etc, but can you give a rough guide how long it takes to get out to Moon point from the boat harbour? :)
Probably best to say around 20 minutes on a good day. We can get there in about 15 minutes generally, but if the weather is not so nice it can take a good 20 to 30 minutes.

Hey mate, great video absolutely loved it! I’m coming up to HB next week (weather permitting haha). Just wanted to know are these busy ups all day or mainly morning/ arvo? Super keen - hopefully can land my first long tail :) Great video mate!
Thanks for watching mate. This time of year the tuna schools are active all day. But, they are harder to fool one the sun gets high and bright in the sky. Early morning or late arvo is always better but having said that you will get them all day. Of you can jag a nice overcast day then that is ideal.

Nice Video mate, What outfit you running for this type of jigging ? planning a trip up to Gladstone way and have never done it before and have no idea what class line (Braid or Mono etc) , rod or reel size ?
Hi Mate - that was a shimano saragossa 6000 spooled with 40lb braid getting owned by a large species. Mounted on a heavy icon jigging rod rated 30 to 45lb. Probably medium rating overall for where you are heading.

Really just depends on how flighty the fish are mate. Some days you can not get near them and others you can park on top of them.
